    General FAQs

    Who is eligible for the Enterprise Training Programme?

    To be eligible for the Enterprise Training Programme:

    • You must be the owner, operator or manager within the business
    • Your business must be trading
    • Your business must be trading for profit. Charitable Trusts are unfortunately not eligible.
    • Your business must employ less than 50 full-time staff (Full time = 30 hours or more per week)

    How much does it cost?

    The Enterprise Training Programme is fully funded by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Your only investment is your time, effort and commitment.

    How does it work?

    1. Business Assessment
      Once you have completed a registration form you will begin the Enterprise Training Programme with an online assessment questionnaire. This will take 15-20min to complete and only has to be done once. A WHK Business Growth advisor will then be in touch to ensure all your needs have been assessed and finally finalise your enrolment onto the workshops. 
       
    2. Workshops
      We offer one of the largest selections of business training topics, including: 
      • Business and successsion planning
      • Sales and marketing
      • Accounting, finance and tax
      • Leadership
      • Human resource management
      • Raising capital
      • Business systems

    3. Coaching 
      After attending a workshop you have the option of booking a one-on-one coaching session to provide advice and guidance on transferring the skills you have learned from the workshops into your business or workplace.

    Is High Impact for you?

    This programme is suited to the owners and managers of small to medium sized businesses that:

    • Are from the relevant sector
    • Have a track record of commercial success or have been trading for at least two years
    • Have a business plan or vision which provides a structure for how the business is going to grow
    • Have started exporting or are planning to export in the next 12 months
    • Employ less than 50 full time employees
    • Want to raise their business vision beyond current ‘comfort zones’
    • Are committed to taking their business to the next level – from initial to rapid growth

    How does the High Impact Programme work?

    Participants will:

    • Work one-on-one with a WHK Business Growth advisor
    • Attend workshop sessions, where participants share experiences and put together action plans to take their businesses to the next stage of growth.

    The process involves:

    • Completing a programme application form
    • Completing a confidential assessment of your business with a WHK Business Growth advisor. This assessment will help to identify some of the strengths and opportunities for improvement. As you work through the assessment process with your advisor, opportunities for your business will be identified and documented
    • Attending several workshops over a number of consecutive weeks. These workshops create opportunities to learn from others, both on the day and moving forward. Please note that there is an expectation that you (or at least one representative from your company) attend all programme sessions. These workshops create opportunites to learn from others, both on the day and moving forward
    • Utilising up to six months implementation support from a WHK Business Growth advisor. This will be made up of sessions that will allow you to focus on your specific areas for improvement
    • Tracking the performance of your business over the programme duration.

    Is High Flyer for you?

    This programme is suited to the owners and managers of small to medium sized businesses that:

    • Are from the relevent sector
    • Have a management structure in place with a team of at least 3
    • Have an annual turnover of at least $300,000 (or 20% year on year growth)
    • Have a strong and established track record of commercial success or have been trading for at least five years
    • Want to raise their business vision well beyond what they thought possible
    • Are committed to taking their business to the next level – from rapid to continuous growth
    • Have a business plan or vision which provides a structure for how the business is going to grow
    • Are focused on capitalising on additional markets particularly offshore
    • Employ less than 50 full time employees.

    How does the High Flyer Programme work?

    Incorporating several recognised industry speakers, High Flyer is delivered over a six week period with each session building on the previous and ends with the delivery of an agreed and actionable strategic plan for each business. It includes interactive learning sessions, and up to six months implementation support.

    Participants will:

    • Work one-on-one with a WHK Business Growth advisor
    • Attend workshop sessions, where participants share experiences and put together action plans to take their businesses to the next stage of growth
