As a business owner you need to understand costs, alternative pricing strategies and what drives profitability. Many tourism operators find it difficult to determine a "price" that doesn't undersell or oversell the experience'; and others are still driven by gut feel.

This workshop will equip participants with the skills to understand business costs, and effectively set pricing and service levels.

Course content includes:

  • What are the drivers of profitability?
  • The 80/20 rule
  • Delivering value while still being aware of pricing thresholds
  • Understanding fixed and variable costs and the impact on profit margins
  • What level of patronage do you need to breakeven and make a profit?
  • What about commissions? Where do they fit in?

Includes worked examples specific to the tourism sector
