During 2008 and 2009 we ran successful programmes specifically for manufacturing companies. We are now pleased to offer a completely new series of learning workshops that are aimed at helping you take the next steps in your manufacturing business development.
We have asked manufacturing business owners and managers what they wanted and now offer a six day learning series covering:

- New product development- benchmarking yourself and action planning
- Competitive manufacturing
- Sales pitch and presentation development
- Trial by jury - apply the learning and get immediate feedback

Using Marketing to Improve Sales - 22 April, 9am - 4:30pm
Presented by Owen Scott of Concentrate in Christchurch. Owen has worked with several fast growing manufacturers including Scope, WhisperGen and Enztec. He writes on marketing and is on the board of the NZ Hi-Tech Trust. His consulting company has won awards in the Canterbury Export Awards, Champion Canterbury Awards and Hi-Tech awards.
This session will be followed by an evening of networking, drinks and canapes.
Leadership and Personal Effectiveness - 29 April, 9am - 4:30pm
John Laurent of WHK will benchmark participants’ perception of their leadership styles against manufacturing industry standards to develop a personal growth plan. He will demonstrate tools for engaging employees in a highly interaction session.
Lunch will include discussion with Chris Davis ex MD of Rheem NZ Ltd and Feltex NZ Ltd. Chris has been one of our most successful manufacturing leaders and brought Feltex to sustained profit before sale to Australian interests.
New Product Development - 6 May, 9am - 4:30pm
Allan Anderson is Professor of Product Development in the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology at Massey University. He will link best practice product development with strategy, planning and processes measuring your own performance in order to develop an action plan.
Competitive Manufacturing - 13 May, 9am - 4:30pm
What is world class, how do you delivery quality, cost, flexibility and lead time benefits to customers? John Clements of Continuous Business Improvement will demonstrate systems and lean methodologies based on his exposure to leading companies in NZ, South Africa, Australia and Japan.
Achieving Sales Success - 20 May, 9am - 4:30pm
Jacinta Clark of WHK will take you further in understanding how to close the sale particularly in the competitive off shore markets. This is based on the idea of the SME manufacturer as chief sales person.
"Dragon's Den" & Where to from here? - 27 May, 9am - 4:30pm
A chance to present a project based on one of the learning areas to an expert panel. Enjoy the thrill of entering the dragon’s den and compete with your peers. Receive helpful and immediate feedback.
