Applications are now open for 12-14 Baby & Child business owner/operator and managers who are passionate about taking their business to the next level.  Developed around the key questions and issues currently facing the industry this High Impact programme has been designed to accelerate business performance and strengthen brand presence within the market. The programme is open to service businesses, manufacturers and retailers targeting the baby and child markets. 

Programme Modules:

Made up of four workshops and one-on-one follow up coaching sessions, the programme will cover the following key business development areas:

Day 1 – Strategy Planning & Branding

  • Assessing the viability of your business (feasibility review)
  • Understand core business, core strengths and how you will compete
  • Where to go from here – How will your business grow?
  • Understanding the needs of your customers
  • Developing your Brand - selecting a name, branding considerations, trademark issues

Day 2 – Marketing Strategies

  • Planning your marketing
  • Market research techniques
  • Understanding the needs of your customers
  • Collateral to distribute to customers/potential customers
  • Understanding distribution channels
  • How to create and use networks

Day 3 – Finance & Managing Resources

  • Pricing
  • Breakeven
  • Understanding the difference between fixed and variable costs
  • Tariffs and duties
  • Structuring and risk management
  • When you need help would contractors or casual staff be more appropriate?
  • When is it time to hire people?
  • Job descriptions/employment agreements
  • Managing business partner expectations and getting the most from each other 

Day 4 – Exporting

  • Identifying a market and market research techniques (for export)
  • Marketing your point of difference
  • Understanding the difference between an agent and a distributor and when to use each
  • Considerations around where to manufacture (WTO ruling) and how to source manufacturers
  • Freight options
  • Exporting online - International best practice

2-3 Month Regroup and Debrief

Unfortunatly due to the Enterprise Training programme coming to an end on June 30th we are unable to deliver this part of the programme.
